toadstool lane

Jennifer day to dayness 12 Comments

It took me a full hour and twenty minutes to work up the courage to open the plastic covering this copy of Australian Homespun Magazine.

Because those little mice perched up high on top of that great little chair are mine.

And so is their Toadstool house, little bed, table and chairs, wee twin bairn tucked up in their bed and of course their red sports car.

I had imagined that Mr Mouse was having a little mid-life crisis. Hence the red sports car.

However….I don’t think this can be true. He appears to be in the passenger seat so perhaps he’s just let Mrs Mouse take it for a spin around the block.

I love how cosy and snug the babies look with their whiskers catching the breeze.

This edition has Mr and Mrs Mouse in their stylish little rambling cloaks.

Along with the hot rod.

Over the next two editions the furniture, babies and the toadstool itself will be featured.

Excuse my cruddy photography skills.

If you come to Frazzy Dazzles for the quality of the images you probably stopped popping by a loooong time ago!

Two little mice have to live somewhere right?

Nobody said that they could only have one residence.

There is another one too…..

My daughter has wanted a toadstool for so long. So thanks for this wonderful pattern. I live in a place where I cannot get wool felt. Do you have any suggestions as to where I could purchase all the wonderful colours?

I too am desperate to find the felt. Is there any chance of a fabric kit becoming available ? I am fairly certain there is nowhere in North East Victoria that would come near that range of colours.

I can tell you it did not take Charlie and I 1hr and 20mins to rip open the plastic covering your magazine. We just made it into the car and it was off and opened.

Your mice are beautiful. As is the car. That toadstool house is AWESOME. There are so many projects I want to make from this issue of Homespun. I have a project in it, too. Mine is the snakes and ladders board game.

      Hi Carol,

Sorry to be tardy getting back to you. I have been a bad blogger and not paying my pages much attention. That combined with my email becoming hyper sensitive to what it considers ‘spam’ has seen me missing out on mail. I think that if you were to contact Homespun magazine they would have a copy of the first installment….failing that I will get my act into gear hopefully sooner rather than later and release the pattern myself.

Hi…sorry to have not gotten back to you sooner. My email has been swollowing comments as span. As for making a commissioned set. I’m sorry but I don’t have any plans to make these little bits and bobs as commissioned work. Maybe one day! Jen
