It was the illustrations that initially drew me to this book. In Australia it is published under the name of ‘Amy and Louis’. The illustrator is a truly gifted young woman who works with a limited pallet of colours and a limitless imagination. Her attention to detail is amazing. She takes my breath away.
The story is that of a two pre-schoolers who find companionship and comfort from their friendship with one another. When circumstances change they can no longer spend time together…but true friends always find a way.
You will love this story and read it over and over and over again! Maybe even when the children aren’t around!
If you like these illustrations I would highly recommend you picking up a copy of ‘No room for a mouse’.
