garage sale goodies
I luuurve to go to garage sales on Saturday mornings. I’m just not as fond of the amount of things I find, want and then have to talk myself out of buying. So I haven’t been for little while….
…but this weekend I happened upon one on my way to the post office. Before I knew it I was parking the car and checking my change! I’m glad I did because I found this little beauty.
Like most things that come home with me from markets and garage sales it shows signs of a lot of living. That’s probably what I liked the most about it. We’ve decided to let it’s past show and opted to only clean, wax and polish it. With a little fabric or perhaps glass in the door I think it’ll be lovely little beauty.
It’s just taken The Little Bush Princess a while to warm to it. She’s not so keen on spiders and the little cupboard came with a resident. He’s been rehoused by The Golden Child now. Everyone’s happy now!
* NB: We’ve just gotten back from taking the kids to Sydney for a few days. If anyone is waiting on responses to emails I should be back to you by tomorrow. I need sleep and tea…just not in that order!*

Hope you all had a fab time in Sydney! And your cupboard - what a find! I’m sure you’ll make it lovely - look forward to seeing how you finish it. Glad the 8-legged creature has found a new abode with the help of TGC

Oooh! That’s going to look lovely. I think you should go for the fabric idea for the doors. Hope you had fun in Sydney. I want to go there and visit my friend one day! Bit of a long way to get there though…

Visiting Sydney sounds wonderful! I like your new cupboard too… especially that pull! I posted about an illustrator on my blog today. I kept thinking you would like her too!

Gorgeous cupboard, I agree a clean and a wax is all it needs. What about (spray painted black) small chicken wire on the inside of the door - that would give it a great country look, and then you could see all your goodies through the wire
